PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining an optimal synchronization gain factor within a variable synchronization gain means.;SOLUTION: The method for the determination of the optimal sync gain factor within said variable sync gain means, includes the following steps: (a) installing a synchronization gain factor in the synchronization gain means; (b) digitizing amplified or reduced synchronization signals into digital samples having at least two different digital levels A and B; (c) counting the number of samples for at least one digital level; and repeating steps (a) to (c) for at least two different synchronization gain factors, and selecting the largest gain setting that has a corresponding sample count that differs with at least a predefined difference from the sample count corresponding to the largest synchronization gain setting.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
