Automatic weight sorter for batteries

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic weight sorting machine for sorting the weight of battery accurately at high speed. SOLUTION: A large number of oscillatory balance scales are arranged on a rotary table 12 turning at a constant speed in a horizontal plane on a circumference coaxial therewith. The battery holding arm 1 of the balance scale is fixed, at the forward end thereof, with a permanent magnet 5 for attracting a battery 13 at a position where the arm 1 is higher than a horizontal position. Arm position is detected by noncontact sensors 7a, 7b when the rotary table 12 is turning and a decision is made whether the battery weight is acceptable or not. Battery quality is ensured by rejecting batteries lighter than a reference weight.
