PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer equipped with a color chart measuring instrument for reading the color chart on fed printing paper.;SOLUTION: An imaging means 25 reads the image on printing paper to store the same in a read image data memory means 45. A reference mark detection means 46 detects the position of a reference mark. A color chart existing position calculation means 47 corrects the inclination of the read color chart to calculate the existing position of the color chart. A read image data reading means 48 reads the image data of a color chart region and simultaneously reads the image data of a paper white region on the color chart region. A paper white correction means 49 forms a whiteness standard on the basis of the read image data of the paper white region to correct the image data of the color chart region.
