PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coast area topographic surface quantification system and a coast area topographic surface quantification method for calculating a surface area from position data where coordinate data below sea level and coordinate data of ground surface are mixed, and for setting contours for finally determining the coast area from a predetermined dividing ridge and a coast line.;SOLUTION: The coast area topographic surface quantification system includes: topographic data consisting of three-dimensional coordinates divided into a plurality of segments; a selection function block for selecting a specific segment from the topographic data; a function block for determining the coast line from sea level altitude of four points in the selected segment; a function block for calculating the area of the segment by dividing the segment into the ground surface and a seafloor surface with the determined coastline; and a function block for calculating the area of segments in a predetermined range by adding up the calculated areas.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
