PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantitative analysis method for surface thickened carbon causing discoloration of a titanium surface by light irradiation.;SOLUTION: After measuring a surface area of a sample, a part of it is used to obtain carbon content by a combustion analysis method as it is, and the other thereof is used to obtain carbon content by the combustion analysis method after removing a surface layer step by step and measuring a surface area again. Carbon content TC (mg/m2) per unit surface area of the sample analyzed as it is and carbon content PC1 to PCn (mg/m2) per unit surface area of the sample from which the surface layer is removed at n steps are calculated. A value at which the carbon content per unit surface area which is gradually reduced by removing the surface layer step by step becomes constant is used as the carbon contetn PC (mg/m2) of a base material to obtain carbon amount C (mg/m2) per unit surface area of carbon thickened on the surface layer by the following formula (1) in this quantitative analysis method for surface concentrated carbon amount of a titanium plate.
