PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for enlarging image data for display.;SOLUTION: An original image is so enlarged that a selected pixel in the original image may be maintained in a prescribed position in an enlarged image regardless of a magnification for use. A first pixel selected in the original image is mapped to a first pixel position in the enlarged image. In the case that a first sum total is smaller than a maximum sum total, the selected first pixel is mapped to a second pixel position also in the enlarged image. In the case that the first sum total exceeds the maximum sum total, a second pixel is selected from the original image and is mapped to the second pixel position. This invention is oriented to a machine readable medium, a device and a computer system for executing programs consisting of instructions, which accord with the principle of the invention.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
