PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-repellent fibrous active carbon knit having high gas-barrier property even in case of being wetted with water or sweat.;SOLUTION: The water-repellent fibrous active carbon knit is obtained by activation carbonizing a fibrous polymer precursor, being ≥2 in water repellency in the form of a sheet. Another version of the water-repellent fibrous active carbon knit is obtained by converting the fibrous polymer precursor to a filamentous form followed by knitting it and then carrying out an activation carbonization, being 50-250 g/m² in bone dry mass and 500-3,000 m²/g in BET specific surface area.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
