PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a moisture/humidity indicator and the moisture/humidity indicator and to realize stable memory action by a simple material constitution using a thermally and chemically stable inorganic material as a color forming material. PSOLUTION: The material for the moisture/humidity indicator is constituted so as to contain a halogen element, which comprises either one of bromine and chlorine, and zinc in an atomic number ratio of halogen element: zinc=1.5:1-2.5:1.
