PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base-isolated building extending method which enables a base-isolated building to surely perform base isolating action even if an earthquake occurs while the building is being extended. ;SOLUTION: A base isolating device 20 is installed on a base-isolating device set foundation 18 which adjoins to an existing base-isolated building 2. A first building foundation 22 is installed on the base isolating device 20, and a first upper skeleton 24 is constructed on the first building foundation 22 to construct a base-isolated building extension 26 which is independent of the existing base isolated building 2. Then, the building foundation 8 of the existing base isolated building 2 is connected to the first building foundation 22 by a second building foundation 28, and a second upper skeleton is constructed on the second building foundation 28 and is integrated with the upper skeleton 10 of the existing base isolated building 2 and with the first upper skeleton 24 of the base isolated building extension 26.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
