PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of reducing a calculation quantity required for solution by improving the operability of an information processor for calculating the numerical solution of a simultaneous linear equation.;SOLUTION: The method for solving simultaneous linear equation for calculating the numerical solution of a simultaneous linear equation that the matrix of coefficients is a non-dense matrix has a step for storing the coefficient matrix element of the non-dense matrix including zero element and all the elements of a right side vector element in an array, a step for preparing a non-zero structure specifying index table expressing the row number of a terminal non- zero element in each column in the array and the column number of the terminal non-zero element in each row, a step for triangular factoring processing of elements within the range shown by the prepared non-zero structure specifying index table and a step for obtaining the solution by performing forward/ backward substitution processing on the coefficient matrix element subjected for the triangular factoring processing and the right side vector element stored in the array.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
