PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foam material which shows outstanding performances such as fluid seal, soundproofing and heat insulation, and also high operating efficiency in fitting to an application region and further, can be manufactured without the necessity to use a special material and special facilities and at a low cost. SOLUTION: This shape-memory foam material is characterized by that a foam material with a moisture absorption rate of 0.01 g/cm3 or more and 0.2 g/cm3 or below is thermally compressed and then is cooled under this compression state kept as it is and further, is restored to its almost original shape before compression by releasing pressure and heating after cooling.
