PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally recognize information which inserted double folded voting paper has.;SOLUTION: In this electronic voting reading unit 30, a paper length detection sensor 33 detects whether inserted marking type voting paper 20 is doubly folded or not, the marking type voting paper 20 which is doubly folded passes, to be straightened up, between a paper correction roller 36 and a brake roller 37 which rotate reversely each other and the information thereof is read by image sensors 39a, 39b. Thereby, the information on the marking type voting paper 20 which is doubly folded has can be normally recognized. Since the marking type ballot 20 which is inserted and doubly folded is processed within a device, complicated operations such as re-insertion are not needed and voting can be efficiently performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
