PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a memory return miss and to automatically return the memory. ;SOLUTION: The detecting method is provided with a queue management table 1 for storing the data of secured address and size in a memory managed by a supervisor, a data area management table 2 for storing the data of secured address and size managed by a requesting source to the supervisor and a detection means for mutually comparing both the tables 1, 2 and detecting the memory area managed only by the supervisor as a memory return miss (1st format) or provided with a queue management table 1 for storing the data of free address and size of the memory managed by the supervisor, the data area management table 2, a connection table between the tables 1, 2, and a detection means for retrieving a memory area not managed by the memory managing supervisor and the requesting source from the connection table and detecting the retrieved memory area as a memory return miss.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
