PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsifier having low foaming tendency, capable of using in the wide pH range and improved in the handling properties at the time of use by copolymerizing copolymerizing components composed of monomers represented by a specified formula, a carboxylic vinyl ester monomer other than the above-said monomer, a (meth)acrylic ester monomer and a (meth) acrylic monomer. ;SOLUTION: A specified monomer is represented by the formula, and in the formula, R1, R2 and R3 represent an alkyl respectively and independently, and at least one of R1, R2 and R3 represent methyl, and the total sum of carbon numbers of alkyls of R1, R2 and R3 is 7 or 8. The above-said monomer, a carboxylic vinyl ester monomer other than the above-said monomer and a (meth)acrylic ester monomer selected out of (meth)acrylic acid and a (meth) acrylate are copolymerized. As an emulsion dispersion agent prepared by the copolymerization as above is of superior emulsion dispersion properties and extremely low foaming properties, wherein rosin material particles are extremely fine, and of superior stability and low foaming properties.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
