PURPOSE: To obtain the title ink with which a high-quality recorded image with excellent fixability can be obtained on sheets of plain paper having a relatively wide range of material properties. ;CONSTITUTION: This pigment ink comprises at least water, a water-soluble organic solvent, and a pigment dispersion, and has a surface tension of 35 dyne/cm or higher.
