PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to perform exact setting without especially paying his or her attention to restrictions caused by combinations of data processing settings of an application and a driver program.;SOLUTION: A host computer 200 is provided with a printer driver program 202 for output to a printer 100, an application program 201, a user interface 203, and a combination inhibited database 204 wherein information about combination inhibition of setting items of the printer driver 202 is preliminarily stored. The application program 201 executes retrieval of pertinent information from the combination inhibited database 204 on the basis of a name and version information of the application 201 which has called the user interface 203.
