PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finely form a plurality of pits having the dimensions ranging from an ultra fine pit to a large pit, with the area difference discriminable in reading, in manufacturing the fine pit pattern with a guide groove and a read-only optical disk master disk utilizing the same.;SOLUTION: The guide grooves 4' are successively formed on a glass plate 11, as the master disk. The fine pits 3' having the different areas are formed in each of the guide groove 4'. The read-only optical disk master disk can be manufactured, in which the sharp pits capable of discriminating the fine area difference even in a multi-value recording system and the guide groove capable of preventing the tracking failure can be simultaneously formed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
