PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To finely form a plurality of pits having the dimensions ranging from an ultra fine pit to a large pit, with the area difference discriminable in reading, in manufacturing the fine pit pattern with a guide groove and a read-only optical disk master disk utilizing the same.;SOLUTION: The guide grooves 4' are successively formed on a glass plate 11, as the master disk. The fine pits 3' having the different areas are formed in each of the guide groove 4'.
