PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estimation system capable of simply and quantitatively estimating a repair cost. ;SOLUTION: The system is provided with a visual line input digital still camera device 5 having an image sensor for detecting a visual line position on the secondary plane of a picture and a picture storing part for storing the visual line position of a photographer photographing a vehicle to be repaired based on the visual line position data detected by the image sensor as the damaged part detection data of the vehicle to be repaired and storing photographed picture data and capable of outputting the damaged part detection data and the photographed picture data which are stored in the picture storing part and a calculation device 1 for retrieving vehicle attribute data corresponding to the vehicle to be repaired from previously stored vehicle attribute data, specifying the damaged position, damage range and deformed quantity of the vehicle to be repaired or one of these elements by using repairing vehicle data inputted based on an output from the device 5 and calculating the repair cost of the vehicle to be repaired to estimate the repair cost based on vehicle attribute data and repairing vehicle data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
