PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the new subject DNA having a specific amino acid sequence, coding for a protein having an activity for transferring glucose to the 3 position of a flavonoid, capable of changing the inbreeding fertility of a plant, useful for producing the seeds of the plant, and giving a stable plant pigment. ;SOLUTION: A new DNA (fragment) has an amino acid sequence of the formula and codes for a protein having an activity for transferring glucose to the 3 position of a flavonoid. The glycoside of the flavonoid changes the transportation activity of auxin, and is useful for the genetic engineering production of a protein for controlling the elongation of a pollen tube.
