PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a filtering material for an air filter which is hardly clogged and long in service life, and an air filter unit using it.;SOLUTION: The filtering material for the air filter is provided with a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) porous film 1 and an air permeable supporting material 2 and the air permeable supporting material 2 is nonwoven fabric containing synthetic fibers and glass fibers. The air filter unit is composed by using the filtering material for the air filter. The air permeable supporting material is laminated with the PTFE porous film 1, is used as the filtering material for the air filter and is the nonwoven fabric containing the synthetic fibers and the glass fibers.
