PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polymeric emulsifier, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a method of emulsion polymerization using the same.;SOLUTION: This polymeric emulsifier is obtained by the following process: an emulsion copolymerization is carried out between styrene, methyl acrylate and acrylic acid in the absence of any emulsifier to synthesize a terpolymer, and the methyl ester groups of the terpolymer are alkali-hydrolyzed into a styrene/acrylic acid two-component copolymer.
