PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for managing a printing color capable of managing the color based on profile data and an image data processor used therefor. ;SOLUTION: A platemaking printing system has an image data processor A, a printing plate forming unit B, a printer C, an imaging means D and a profile forming unit E. The system prints in a predetermined reference state. Then, a color chart on a printed product is imaged by the imaging means D. The forming unit E calculates the printing color of the chart by an Lab table color system based on the imaged image data, and forms profile data based on the color and a reference color. This profile data is stored in relation to the ink used for the printer and a type of a printing sheet.
