PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coated paper for offset printing, excellent in opacity, print through, whiteness and dry strength at a low cost by improving operability which becomes problem in a production process applying a primer coating solution under high speed conditions by using a film transfer system. ;SOLUTION: In a method for producing coated paper for printing, comprising applying a coating solution containing pigment and adhesive at least twice to base paper, a primer coating solution containing needle-like or prism-like precipitated calcium carbonate having 3.0-5.0 μm long diameter and 0.2-0.5 μm short diameter in an amount of 60-90 wt.% based on the pigment as a pigment component is prepared and the primer coating solution is applied to the surface of the base paper by a film transfer system and then, subjected to finish coating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
