PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide variety of finishing material such as an interior and exterior finish for buildings and an interior finish for shops as well as a wall and a breast wall in civil engineering or a newel and balustrade of bridges.;SOLUTION: The method is applied on a substrate of which the surface to be coated should be smooth. After a joint tape or a joiner is applied, the surface is overlaid up to the height of the joiner by polymer cement mortar, a cement filler and the like when the layout joint is designedly prepared and further the bottom joint is used, and then is polished by a metal trowel or a sand paper to form the smooth surface. After the polymer cement mortar is cured, two or three colors of the patterning material toned in advance are soaked in a pattern roller in order and the surface to be coated is patterned and the wet-on-wet coating is applied thereon.
