PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress string-oscillation of a silent chain without degrading transmission efficiency.;SOLUTION: Link plates 2 and 2' for a silent chain comprise a pair of, left and right, shoulder parts 23 and 24, with one shoulder part 24 protruding outward. The shoulder parts 24 of adjoining pair of link plates 2 and 2' interfere with each other to regulate bending, toward rear surface side, of the silent chain, so that string-oscillation of the silent chain is suppressed. Here, since the link plates 2 and 2' freely bend toward the engagement side with a sprocket, the shoulder parts 24 are provided not to obstruct travel of the chain, resulting in no degradation of transmission efficiency of the chain.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
