PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the position of recording media from being shifted from a print execution range at the time of printing on the label face of the recording media.;SOLUTION: A recording media 2 is fixed to the fitting part 11 of a tray 1 for carrying recording media. Position and width of the fitting part 11 in the main scanning direction X are detected at a detecting section 63 provided on a carriage 61 and the central position of the fitting part 11 in the main scanning direction X is calculated. Position and width of the fitting part 11 in the sub-scanning direction Y are detected at the detecting section 63 and the central position of the fitting part 11 in the sub-scanning direction Y is calculate. Central position of the fitting part 11 is then operated from the central positions of the fitting part 11 in the main scanning direction X and the sub-scanning direction Y and the central position of the recording media 2 is calculated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
