According to one aspect, a storage system performance metric comparison method includes accessing first performance metric data comprising a plurality of data values with respect to a first storage system configured to store digital data, accessing second performance metric data comprising a plurality of data values with respect to a second storage system configured to store digital data, establishing a common representation format for the first performance metric data and the second performance metric data, arranging at least some of the data values of the first performance metric data according to the common representation format, and arranging at least some of the data values of the second performance metric data according to the common representation format.
