The clip (10) has upper and lower vertical support arms (34, 60) fixed to respective ends of an adjustable support arm (12). A belt (110) receiving a microphone (112) is fixed to the arm (60). The arm (34) has a foot (44) comprising an adjustable jaw (40) and the arm (60) has a foot (62) comprising an adjustable jaw (66). The jaws are made of rubber and are adjusted for gripping front and back sides of a string instrument. An independent claim is also included for a musical instrument comprising a microphone fixed to a mounting clip.
