Method for influencing the rheology of a drilling fluid or fluid maintenance of well drilling fluid or fluid for maintenance of the shaft, and,Method for reducing the viscosity of a drilling fluid or fluid retention well. A method of reducing the viscosity of drilling fluids and fluids to maintain well based on oil in low temperature and a compound diluent for use in such drilling fluids and F.Luidos maintenance of well are disclosed.The method comprises adding to said drilling fluids or fluids to maintain well a diluent having the formula: R - (C ~ 2 ~ H ~ 2 ~ s)(C ~ 3 ~ H ~ 6 ~) ~ m ~ (C ~ 4 ~ H ~ 8 ~) ~ K ~ - H, where R is an alkyl radical, saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, having about 8 to about 24 carbon atoms.N is a number between about 1 to about 10, M is a number that ranges from about 0 to about 10, and K is a number that ranges from about 0 to about 10.
