"OPTICAL SIGNAL RECEPTION TECHNIQUE THROUGH A HYBRID OPTICAL PREAMPLIFIER FORMED BY A DOUBLE FIBER AMPLIFIER AND A PARAMETRIC AMPLIFIER". The present invention relates to a novel technique for receiving high-rate optical digital signals for use in fiber optic telecommunications systems via a hybrid optical preamplifier using parametric amplification. This technique could be used as an upgrade of the amplification and reception technology currently used in the manufacture of hardware for fiber optic telecommunications systems. This new technique for receiving optical signals through a hybrid optical preamplifier using parametric amplification describes the joint use of a 1P-FOPA and an AFDE as a technique for receiving optical signals. It consists of inserting a parametric amplifier, mounted with one or two pumping lasers, so that it functions as a second stage of an AFDE preamplifier. Thus, AFDE and FOPA can be considered as a single preamplifier and can be mounted as a single photonic device or as two independent devices connected in series. We point out that the best results are for low signal strength values, which makes the AFDE + FOPA set a preamplifier optimized for high rate systems and with little safety margin in signal strength.
