"PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF AN ALKALOID REACTION PRODUCT, ALKALOID REACTION PRODUCT, CHELIDONINE DERIVATIVE, AND USES OF AN ALKALOID REACTION PRODUCT". The invention relates to alkali reaction products obtainable in a process wherein alkaloids are reacted with an alkylating agent, preferably thiotepa, where unreacted alkylating agent and other water soluble compounds are removed from the reaction mixture by washing with water or a suitable aqueous solvent, wherein the reaction mixture is subjected to a strong acid treatment, preferably hydrogen chloride (HCl), to precipitate a water soluble salt from the reaction products. Precipitated reaction products comprise at least one quaternary alkali derivative and are suitable as drugs for prophylactic or therapeutic application, particularly in the treatment of immune or metabolic disorders, and cancer.
