The present invention relates to the trihydrate of the mesylate salt of (1S,2S)-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(4-hydroxy-4-phenylpiperidin-1-yl)-1-propanol; a pharmaceutical composition pharmaceutical compositions containing it and intended for treating disorders being selected from the group consisting of degenerative central nervous system (CNS) disorders such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease; epilepsy, anxiety, cerebral ischemia, muscular spasms, multiinfarct dementia, traumatic brain injury, pain, AIDS related dementia, hypoglycemia, migraine, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, drug and alcohol addiction, drug and alcohol withdrawal symptoms, psychotic conditions and urinary incontinence in a mammal.
