The present invention relates to a microstrip patch antenna formed by an electrically conducting ground surface (1) and an electrically conducting radiator motif (2) wherein said ground surface (1) dimension is greater than that one of the radiator motif (2) and the radiator motif (2) distance above the ground surface (1) lies typically within the range of from about 0.01 to 0.1 {lambda}.g, wherein {lambda}.g represents a wavelength on a given substrate. Space extending between the ground surface (1) and the radiator motif (2) is filled with air, optionally with a dielectric substrate. In the radiator motif (2), there is performed at least one slot (3) situated symmetrically relative to the center of this radiator motif (2) and having length within the range of 0.4 to 0.5 {lambda}.g and the width thereof lying within the range of from about 0.005 to about 0.1 {lambda}.g. The distance of the slot (3) horizontal axis lying at the upper, or the bottom edge of the motif (2) as the case may be in the direction of y axis ranges within 0.4 to 0.6 {lambda}.g from the given edge of the motif (2) and the distance of the slot (3) transversal axis (3) performed at the left-hand or right-hand of the motif (2) as the case may be in the direction of the x axis lies at a distance of 0.35 to 0.45 {lambda}.g from the given edge. A single feeding of the invented microstrip patch antenna, forming also a part of the present invention, is performed so that the bottom side of the radiator motif (2) is provided with a dielectric substrate (6) with a microstrip line (7) overlapping in axial direction one slot (3) performed thereon, wherein the microstrip line (7) overlap is at the most 0.5 {lambda}.g. The original electrically conducting ground surface (1) serves as a screening plate for the microstrip line (7) while for the radiator motif (2) it serves as a reflective plate. The radiator motif (2) forms a ground plane for the microstrip line (7) for connecting an external conductor of a feeding connector wherein said feeding connector central conductor is connected with the microstrip line (7).
