The present invention provides compounds of formula (I), where R and R are as defined in the description. The compounds of the present invention are modulators, in particular antagonists, of chemokine CCR5 receptor activities. Modulators of the CCR5 receptor can be useful in the treatment of various inflammatory diseases and conditions, as well as in the treatment of HIV infection and infection caused by genetically related retroviruses.
