PROGNOSTIC, DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DETECTION AND USE OF TUBULO-INTERSTITIAL NEPHRITIS ANTIGEN (TIN ANTIGEN) AND SECTIONS THEREOF

The Tubulointerstitial Nephritis antigen (TIN antigen) is a new macromolecule of the basement membranes, almost exclusively expressed on the basement membrane of the kidney tube. This amazing detection conducts to the hypothesis that it can be used as an indice for diseases affecting this region; more precisely, in situations of diabetic nephropathy and acute tubular necrosis, it can bean element for the precarious prognosis, diagnosis and follow-up of the disease evolution. Initial extracted results support the hypothesis that the TIN antigen concentration in the urine of patientssuffering from acute tubular necrosis or diabetes presents significant differences compared to urine issued from healthy individuals.
