This invention relates to the design of a rodent bait station which prevents or reduces the access of toxic rodent baits to non-target animals, children, pets and livestock. The design incorporates in it a simple and unique method of containing the rodent baits, allowing only the intended rodent pests to be controlled or monitored without affecting their feeding habits. The use of this device allows the user to bait the rodent pests inhabiting several habitats such as rural and urban homes, multistoried and industrial complexes, mills, warehouses, not in use and godowns, restaurants, shops and libraries, both indoors and outdoors. When not in use, the bait station is kept 'closed' by a simple operation of lifting and then turning and positioning the outer portion so that the entry and egress holes gets closed and the baits (fresh or residual) are protected from wind, moisture, sunlight and spillage until further use. The deisgn is simple, elegant, cost effective and attractive to rodents.
