This invention relates to a method of preparing amino acids and metal chelates of amino acids by enzymatic hydrolysis which can be consumed by animals, poultry, plants and animals. To maintain health and well being of animals, poultry, humans and plants, essential elements must be in the diet in sufficient amount. Increased availability of nutrients is essential because it allows lower concentration of additive in the diet. The enhanced bio availability depends upon associated metal with an organic molecule. This bonding modifies the physical and chemical property of the metal resulting in increased solubility, stability, improved absorption and increased netabolic utilization. A mineral in the chelated state is absorbed faster than ordinar mineral salts. Enzymatic hydrolysis process under this invention does not destroy polypeptides, process is mild and no amino acid is formed. Enzymes are added to proteins and appropriate amount of metal salt is added to the solution of amino acids to form a precipitate and do not have a charge.
