Described is a portable equipment for performing a field test and calibration of electrical power meters, which can be coupled to electromechanical or electronic meters. The present invention comprises a human/machine interface based on a Notebook-type computer for controlling the operation of the portable equipment; a processing and controlling electronic module for controlling further electronic modules and for pre-processing the information of the voltage signal and currents applied to the meter to be tested; a power electronic module for supplying calibrating current to the meter; a switching electronic module for automatically configuring the connection to the meter to be tested; a single-phase power supply for supplying the required power to operate the portable equipment. The inventive equipment is characterized in that the human/machine interface generates result reports of the tests performed to the meter, said reports are generated in a personal format with regard to the ele ctricity company; the interface is handled in an open communication protocol for downloading the test reports performed to the meter or for uploading the information of the meter(s) to be tested during the working route into the portable equipment, thereby allowing the information of the results obtained from the tested and calibrated meters to be downloaded into a PC to be used by further departments of the company.
