The greenhouse installation has an automatic transport carriage for internal use, provided with a set of arms (4) forming a series at the outer end of which is a greenhouse h older. The series is accommodated above the floor surface of the greenhouse. The carriage is provided with a lower pair of wheels to support its weight and a possibly supported holder. Near its uppermost outer end, the carriage is provided with connecting devices (26), with which the carriage is supported on a support rail (21) high in the greenhouse. The carriage is provided with devices formed by a connection (13) under the level of the rails in the rail system. This connects the outer end of the upwardly pivotable arm in a longitudinal direction coinciding with that of the rails (10) for plant holders. This arm near its outer end is provided with complementary support devices for horizontal positioning of the arm over the connection (13).
