Use of a formulation comprising Emu oil, alkyl esters, benzyl alcohol. benzoin, allantoin, methylparaben and propylparaben for treatment of wounds, burns and other dermatological problems

Disclosed herein is an analgesic, anesthetic and antipruritic formulation that comprises from about 0.01 to about 13 wt.% alkyl esters; from about 20 to about 70 wt.% Emu oil; from about 10 to about 33 wt.% benzyl alcohol; from about 10 to about 33 wt.% benzoin; from about 0.2 to about 2.0 wt.% allantoin; from about 0.25 to about 1.25 wt.% methylparaben; and from about 0.01 to about 0.30 wt.% propylparaben. Also disclosed is the use of said formulation in the manufacture of a medicament for treatment of chronic ulcers and burn wounds.
