A method of measuring the performance of a hydrogeological piezometer.

A method of measuring the performance of a hydrogeological piezometer, characterised in that in a piezometer sealed at the top, the free surface of water is lowered by pumping in compressed air; further, the free surface of water is stabilised, and the hydraulic potential is abruptly changed through sudden air expansion. Further, following the re-sealing of the piezometer, the free surface of water is risen by sucking in air, the free surface of water is stabilised and, by a sudden unsealing of the piezometer, the hydraulic potential is abruptly changed. Each time, the following parameters are recorded: movements of the free surface of water in time in the hydrogeological piezometer and air overpressure and negative pressure in the space over the free surface of water in the examined piezometer. The performance indicator, being the percentage ratio of actual depression of the free surface of water in the piezometer to the set depression, is calculated on the basis of obtained results.
