The proposed device for testing the serviceability of an excitation current controller for an electric generator contains buttons with normally open contacts, diodes, relays, a current limiter, an indicator for monitoring the operation of the generator protection device, an indicator for monitoring the availability of the generator excitation voltage, a unit for testing the integrity of the generator excitation winding, an accumulator battery, a differentiator, an output voltage transducer for the generator, and load current transducer for the generator.
