METHOD OF SEISMIC LOCATION BY USING A MINE WORKING

The proposed method of seismic location by using a mine working consists in exciting elastic sounding vibrations by a percussive vibration source and receiving the reflected vibrations in the rock deposition plane by a seismic receiver located near the vibration excitation point. The direction of the exciting impact of the vibration source coincides with the axis of the maximal sensitivity of the seismic receiver and varies through an angle interval of 10 à 15 degrees. The reflected vibration signal is normalized by reducing the reflected signal to the sounding vibration signal, filtered in order to remove the low-frequency components of the signal, and sampled through time intervals 10 à 20 ms in length. From the said time intervals, the time interval is isolated in which the magnitude ofthe signal varies as a cosine function of the sounding direction angle. The direction to the object that reflects the sounding vibrations is determined by the time interval with the maximal magnitude of the reflected signal. The distance to the object is determined by the minimal time interval in which the maximal magnitude of the reflected signal is maximal.
