The method for the analysis of electrocardiographic (ECG) signals for detecting the late atrial potentials (LAP) consists in averaging ECG signals recorded on the surface of the patient's body. Then ECG signals are processed for detecting low amplitude markers in the end of P wave or through the isoelectric part of PQ interval of the standard ECG. The ECG signals are averaged for the groups of 30-40 cardiocycles. The ensemble of the averaged ECG signals is then arranged. The following analysis is performed in the transformed basis of the eigenvectors of the correlation array of ECG ensemble. The complete transformed space of the correlation array is distributed among the signal subspace and the noise subspace. In each subspace, the features of LAP presence or absence are looked for. In the signal subspace, the LAP images are recognized based on learning pattern, while in the noise subspace, the low amplitude ECG component is assessed spectrally.
