PROCESS FOR MANGANESE PREPARATION OF THE SLUG OF SILICOMANGANESE PRODUCTION

The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy. A process for preparation manganese from the slug of silicomanganese production involves tapping the melts out of the furnace, slug separation from the metal, treating the slug by the reduction and slug metal phase prills precipitation into metallic melts. The distinctive feature of the method is that after the slug insertion from the metal into the lining ladle, components and complexes which approximate the ratio SiO2 : CaO : Al2O3 : MgO in slug to (8 - 9) : (7 - 8) : (1.9 - 2.1) : (0.8 - 1.0) are added, the reductant with minimum contant of S is taken, in quantity 25-30 (% by weight), the slug temperature is increased over 250-300 DEGREE C then the melting temperature and it is hold under this temperature for 10-15 min. The invention provides increasing of manganese processing from refused slug of silicomanganese.
