The clamp has a grip part (1) for securing around part of the cable and fixing it into position, at least one mounting part (3) for securing to an underlay such as a wall, roof, floor or post and at least one point (2) on the grip part which is designed to be struck with a hammer or a similar tool in order to drive the mounting part into the support surface. The mounting part has a decreasing width and thickness in the direction away from the grip part to which it is integrally joined.
