A growing tray, with the aid of a lifting mechanism, is temporarily lifted from the cultivation system's growing shelf. The lifting mechanism includes a sensor that senses the weight of the growing tray and need for moisture for the cultivation substrate and plant. An independent claim is also included for a device for addition of a liquid solution into a plant cultivation substrate.
