A sanitary product in the form of a disposable sheet comprises a web-shaped material (1) having a top comfort layer (2) and a bottom barrier layer (3) joined together by gluing or embossing, without any intermediate layer. The comfort layer is formed from a non-woven material. The weight of the comfort layer is = weight of the barrier layer. The glue (4) is applied on less than 80 (preferably less than 40, especially than 20)% of the surface thus maintaining the beneficial breathability over the layers. An independent claim is included for production of the disposable sanitary product.
