The method involves reducing high pressure of a fuel at a gaseous state up to a lowest pressure, by a pressure reducer (4). The lowest pressure is controlled by an electrical signal provided by an electronic control device (10) of an internal combustion engine (1). The fuel is fed to the engine by injectors (6), and an opening period of the injectors is chosen according to fuel consumption and the lowest pressure. An independent claim is also included for a device to reduce pressure of a gas supplied to an internal combustion engine.
