The present invention provides for a test kit and method of detectingantipolymer antibodies, and a test kit and method for detectingsilicone related disease, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Themethods of the present invention involve a) providing a sampleto be tested for a antipolymer antibody and d) combining a polymer selectedfrom the group consisting of polyacrylamide (particularlypartially polymerized polyacrylamide), silicone, and collagen, with saidsample for a time sufficient for an antipolymer antibody to reactwith said polymer, to form a complex. An indicator reagent is added to thematerial resulting from step b) to indicate the presence orabsence of an antipolymer antibody in said sample.
